Paul Sayers, owner of Solmar Estates, was super helpful to us in our search for a retirement home in Costa Blanca. Even though we were non-E.U. citizens, he was still able to meet all our needs. He helped us find the perfect home, obtain a trusted lawyer and open a bank account while in Spain. Even before we came to Spain, he was very responsive to all our questions and promptly replied to all e-mails. When we finally came, he drove us around the area where we were interested in buying to get us oriented. He took us to the local grocery store where we bought food for the week and he even helped us bag our groceries! Even though he had originally planned to show us more than a dozen properties, once he was clear about exactly what we wanted, we cut down the list to just a handful in our price range and in the area where we wanted to buy. One of these properties, a three bedroom townhouse with a large communal pool nearby, was exactly what we were looking for! However, Paul never said, You need to act now! It was always our decision. Later on, Paul found out that another person was coming by the townhouse that day for a second look. So on our own initiative, we decided to make an offer. So he took us to the real estate firm selling the townhouse and we made an offer that same day. Luckily, it was accepted because two other offers came in that afternoon for the property we had just bought! Besides helping us pick out the perfect place in the super neighborhood of Los Dolses, Paul introduced us to a lawyer he trusts that is helping us with the legal aspects of buying a house in Spain. And Paul helped us set up a bank account at a location close to where we will be living. I also asked him if he knew of any churches in the area and he researched that and gave me the information I wanted. He also took us for a drive to nearby beaches and golf courses so we could see what was around the area where we would be living. He was extremely helpful in every way possible. Paul was our advocate through the whole process and this helped us feel confident that we had made the right decision about choosing him and buying the property that we did.

I have found that one of the keys to a successful business relationship is flexibility. During my initial visit to Spain to meet with Paul Sayers of Solmar Estates I was not too flexible & also maybe a little over demanding considering my budget to buy out there was not vast.
